What was the early inspiration for The Melody App?

The app came out of a complaint rather than a business plan.

Two problems that were really one

Producers who make records for a living kept running into the same two problems from opposite ends. Finding a melody worth building on took hours that were supposed to be spent producing. And the melodies that were easy to find came with terms that were vague, unfindable, or discovered only during clearance on a record that already mattered.

Those look like separate problems. They are the same problem, which is that the supply of usable melodies was never organized for the people using it. Fixing the first without the second just produces faster mistakes.

Who built it

TURNMEUPYC, Foreverolling and Corbett built it from that end, as producers with placements who wanted the thing to exist rather than as founders looking for a market. The swipe came later, and it is the part everybody notices first.
