How many beats did TNT send to get 7 placements on Rod Wave’s “Beautiful Mind”?

@clegrett ask @tntxd_ how many beats did he send @rodwave to get the placements on Beautiful Mind?

Seven placements on one album is not a normal outcome. Rod Wave's “Beautiful Mind” was a number one record, and TNT is on seven of it.

The ratio matters more than the total

What makes the question worth asking is the ratio rather than the total. Every producer has a private sense of how many beats it takes to land one, and most of those estimates are wrong in the same direction, because we remember the ones that connected and quietly discount the hundreds that went nowhere. Hearing an actual figure from somebody in the middle of a run like that is a useful correction to a number you have been carrying around unexamined.

Seven on one project is not seven lottery wins

The second thing worth noticing is that seven placements on one project is not seven separate lottery wins. Getting deep into one camp is a fundamentally different mechanism from spraying beats across an industry, and it tends to follow from the first placement rather than running parallel to it.

TNT gives the number to Chris Legrett on The Producer Room, above.
