What’s it feel like to get a new placement?

Not the question we would normally publish an article about, and worth keeping for a reason.

Almost everything else on this blog treats placements as a system: how they route, what they pay, what to sign first. That framing is useful and it flattens something out. The first one does not feel like a system working. It feels like proof, after a long stretch where you had none, that any of it was real.

Producers who have had a lot of them will tell you the feeling changes but does not go away, which is probably the more interesting half of the answer.
